  • Sorry if I’m being blind – but can you please tell me where on your site I can find out what Tax Financial speculation is. I agree with the removing (or at least reducing) GST on food but have no idea what financial speculation actually is. Thanks.

  • This article explains a bit about what financial speculation is, why it’s harmful, and why it should be taxed.

  • Hi Becks,

press on home on the top right hand side below the subtitle. There is a Tax Justice media release there and a link that may help you understand it better.

( See Bank and Hedge Fund Speculation Causes Food Prices to Soar )Tim Jones states “Speculation on agricultural commodities by banks and hedge funds is primarily responsible for spikes in food prices.” Speculation is an investment that is very risky but could yeild excellent profits.

These types of investments inturn increases food prices. Hope that helps and Happy New Year to you Becks. =)

  • Hi Vaughan,

I helped out with the petition in 2008. Is RAM still in action?

I see Alliance Party and Socialist Worker are involved with the petition that sure will increase the chances of positive change. Will be interested in helping out with the petition in the New Year.

Happy New Year to you and your family. =)
